The Tummy Tuck Procedure At Miami Aesthetic

Abdominoplasty takes approximately two to four hours under general anesthesia. Dr. Pazmiño will make two incisions: one from hipbone to hipbone close to the pubic area, and another around the navel. He will separate the skin from the abdominal muscles, which are then pulled together and stitched into place for a firmer abdomen and a narrower waist. He’ll stretch the skin flap down and over the newly tightened muscles, remove excess skin, and reattach the navel in a natural position. Finally, he will close the incisions and apply sterile surgical dressings over the sutured areas.

Liposuction

Patients who have excess fat but do not have excess skin are good candidates for liposuction of the abdomen. They may benefit from standard liposuction or ultrasound-assisted liposuction for more dramatic results and a quicker recovery.

This procedure uses an incision that can be hidden under a bikini. This incision allows us to remove the excess skin and fat. Dr. Pazmiño will commonly perform liposuction at the same time to address the sides of the abdomen and contour your new tummy!

Extended Tummy Tuck

Patients who have excess fat and skin, looseness of the abdominal wall and excess tissue in the sides are excellent candidates for an extended abdominoplasty, This has a somewhat longer incision than a standard tummy tuck which allows us to remove the skin and tissue from the sides and contour your tummy beautifully.

Results from the tummy tuck procedure will likely diminish if women continue to bear children or gain a great deal of weight. If you plan on becoming pregnant, we advise that you delay your abdominoplasty. Dr. Pazmiño also encourages patients who intend to lose a large amount of weight to have the surgery once they have achieved their target weight since the skin in the abdominal area typically loosens after substantial weight loss. Recovery After Abdominoplasty

Recovery time ranges from two weeks to a few months. Patients can expect to return to exercise and sports in four to five weeks. However, we realize that every patient is unique. Dr. Pazmiño carefully monitors the recovery of each patient and will let you know when it’s safe for you to perform any activity.

They may include infection, blood clots, and poor healing, which may require further surgery. Patients who have had previous abdominal surgery should know that their old scars could be raised, stretched or generally more noticeable after the procedure. Mini Tummy Tuck- Partial Abdominoplasty

A mini tummy tuck is wonderful for patients who have excess fat in the center of their abdomens and some looseness of the abdominal muscles. Dr. Pazmiño uses a shorter incision to reinforce the muscles and remove the excess fat and skin. A new belly button does not need to be made. Dr. Pazmiño will often do liposuction of the abdomen, hips, and flanks at the same time to give you a beautiful result.

Patients who only want to rejuvenate their umbilicus (belly button) are candidates for this procedure.
