What Happens During A Blepharoplasty Procedure?
Blepharoplasty can be done on both the upper and lower eyelids, or it can be done on just the lower or upper eyelids. It all depends on the unique situation. The patient is typically given a local anesthetic. The surgeon will then remove the excess fat and skin.
The results of a blepharoplasty procedure can last for years. Blepharoplasty can be done either by itself or in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure, such as a forehead lift or BOTOX®. What Is A Forehead Lift?
A forehead lift, also called a brow lift, is a cosmetic procedure done to reduce wrinkles and/or sagging skin in the forehead, eyebrows, and/or eyelids. It is an outpatient procedure.
There are two main types of brow lifts. The traditional brow lift is the older and more invasive method. In the endoscopic method, the surgeon will use a miniature camera called an endoscope to perform certain aspects of the procedure. During the procedure, the surgeon will tighten and/or remove the various tissues beneath the skin.
What Is BOTOX®?
BOTOX® is a well-known injectable that is used to relax facial muscles in order to smooth the skin and minimize the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. This is an outpatient treatment that can be used in conjunction with procedures like blepharoplasty for optimal results. Since this is a non-invasive treatment, most patients are happy to incorporate it into their cosmetic eyelid procedure.
